The family settle in Yenda

After 5 years spent following seasonal work, they settle on a vineyard near Griffith, NSW

Farm 1471 is purchased

50 acres of farmland in Yenda is purchased and planted with grapes, peaches and prunes

The family find their home

They move into their own farmhouse on Farm 1471, where they will live for close to 40 yrs

The winery on 1471 is built

Twelve years after leaving Italy, the Casella's are ready to make their own wine again

1969

The first grapes are crushed

Joe and John crush the first harvest of grapes by feet!

The 1st batch of wine is made

The juice is then processed at the new winery and the first batch of wine is produced

1969

The 1st batch of wine is sold

Filippo drives 20 barrels of wine to North QLD and sells them to friends and customers

Mechanical crusher installed

Filippo has a crusher made. It’s fuelled by an old kerosene Ford tractor motor
