[yellow tail] wines discovers Canadians like to play by their own rules.

Have you ever wondered what your taste buds say about you? According to a national [yellow tail] survey conducted by Angus Reid Strategies in March 2009, wine preferences reveal a lot more about a person than basic pairing choices.

The survey, which polled more than 1,000 Canadian adults and compared their tastes in wine to their lifestyle habits, found that in general, Canadians like to shake things up when it comes to when, how and where they enjoy a glass of their favorite wine.

In fact, the survey found that wine-lovers like to show their playful side on the twister mat or over a heated board game. And, when it comes to where Canadians like to play, more than one-third like to get frisky with a glass of wine in the bedroom. White wine drinkers prove to be the friskiest of them all!

The survey found that:

- Men are significantly more likely to get frisky with a loved one over a glass of wine (41% compared to 32% of females) as are wine-drinkers in Manitoba and Saskatchewan (57% compared to 36% average)

- Women are significantly more inclined to enjoy their wine with a games night in (28% compared to 18% of males)

- Wine drinkers in Ontario and Quebec like to shake up the competition by bringing board games into the bedroom

- The majority of Canadians who like to play board games in the bedroom are Merlot or Pinot Grigio drinkers

- Only Ontarians and Quebecers play board games in the bedroom

While almost a third of Canadians admit to hiding a card up their sleeve or sneaking past "GO" when nobody is looking, it's the Gen Y'ers that need to be watched the closest. More than half of the success-driven offspring of the baby boomer generation admit to playing by their own rules - in this case cheating - while playing board games!
